“The pepper grinders and lids for the mason jar coffee grinders, are turned using a lathe and chisels making each piece unique in both its pattern and wood specie. After I turn the grinders, I sand them smooth and then finish them using numerous coats to give them a shiny finish. The other style of coffee grinder I make uses box joints. After cutting the sides for box joints, the sides are glued together and sanded. The tops and bottoms are cut out, routed, sanded and then glued to the sides. The box is finished with numerous coats of shellac. The drawer for the box is also made”.
